wanted to say thank you, this is really great stuff and very helpful.
:::::NEW TIMELAPSE MODELING VIDEO! #2:::::
awsome to see what you tought us in the old edgeloop modeling thread in use
I just want more
It’s good to see you’re still alive and kicking Dave
I’ll watch this during the lunchbreak at work… I miss modeling stuff, all I do these days are lowpoly environments… Ah well, you’ll probably inspire me enough to get going with my robot lady again
(She’s all modeled up now, just need a scene)
Take care man and shoot me an email, I is missing you
hey Thanks,
great workflow!
have you written a tuturial I can find somewhere? I really have alot to learn from you.
Wow, guys, thanks so much you all your kind words! Equinoxx, I can’t believe you actually plugged this. Thanks! Sniff…my first front page plug…sniff…
Well, I’ve read through everyone’s replies, and I’m blown away by all the support. I’m really stoked that this could be of use to you guys. I’ve gotten alot of email and PMs about a few things, so I’ll address those here and in my first post.
- The lighting setup I used in the tut is one I created a while back to provide fast but pretty lighting to make things look cooler than they are so that would be more inspired to keep modeling. It’s a bunch of omnis and a spot. The lighting has “ignore extents” on so that it does’nt get in the way, and then when I import it, I just globally hide all lights. You can toggle their display on and off in the viewport by use the keyboard shortcut “ctrl-l”. I’ve zipped up the file and hosted it on my site. You can get it here:

- The script tools I have docked on the left side of my screen are:
CSPoly Tools
Meshtools
Polymagus 2.0 beta
All available at:
Someone asked about the tool I used to bridge two edges together. That’s the “blend edges” tool in the Polymagus 2.0 script set.
I’ll be back on soon to answer everyone’s questions in more depth. Again, thanks a ton for all the encouragement and kind words.

Wow, this is nice. I never thought to use some of the tools (especially Chamfer) this way before.
It also inspired me to make a whole lot of new keyboard bindings. I don’t know why I haven’t made one for Edit Poly edge constraints yet.
 very well done!!. Could anyone point me on a working link for tubecap script i can’t get it anywhere on the net been trying to get it but the official site is down.
oh yeah please do one tut on a full character something not that complicated like the LOTR big monster or something would be fun and would mean alot for a newbbie as my self :bounce:
thanks!!!
Tube cap script is now hosted on my site too.

I gotta give a big shout-out to Rens Heeren for all his efforts in making this release possible. He’s been hosting the video and giving away TONS of his bandwidth. I just wanted to publically thank him for all his kind help.
I’d also like to thank Filipe Deschamps of redpixel.com.br for the huge hand they have had in hosting this sucker.
Thanks guys!
If anyone else would like to help out by mirroring this video, please PM me!

Hi Dave,
Any chance there will be a sequel to this great tutorial? I’d love to see the next few steps on how you connect the eyes to the rest of the face.
