New hardware for 3000 €

#1

Hi guys, I’m considering buying new hardware very soon. Haven’t been following the latest advancements in the computer hardware, so I’m looking for some tips from you.
I’m a lighting artist so I render and composite a lot using Maya, Vray, Arnold, Nuke Photoshop, Mari etc.

My budget is around 3000 € (~3900$). I was thinking about these components:

Evga GeForce GTX Titan 6gb SC
Asus P9X79 Deluxe
Intel Core i7 3930K 3.2 Ghz
Cooler Master Silent Pro 1000W 80+ Gold
Kingston 32gb (4x8192 mb) CL11 2133 Mhz Beast series
Noctua NH-D14 SE2011
Samsung SSD Pro Basic 840-series 256gb
Fractal Design Define XL R2

Is it better to buy a Titan card or 690 for the same price? Intel or Samsung SSD? Is it better to buy a Intel i7 3930K or maybe 2 cheaper xeons? I need a little help to decide which components to buy.

What do you think? Would you change something?

Thanks

Make double sure that ram fits under the Noctua. To be safe, I’d get heatsink-less ram sticks. They’re pretty useless anyway. Even read somewhere that they trap more heat in that dissipate it

Thanks for the reply. I will probably ditch those memories.
I’ve read that Corsair Dominator are good: Corsair Dominator Platinum 32gb (4x8gb) 240-Pin SDRAM DDR3 2133 CL9
These are a little bit more expensive but good.

If I have to choose between low CL/low speed or high CL/high speed, which should I prioritise?

CL makes bugger all difference to anything

I’m not so shore, If the TITAN will be sooooo much better in 3D apps, than GTX 660/670/680, due to its price.
Do you plan dual monitor set up?
