So after giving the new edit sphere options adequate time to be tested I thought I’d post my views and issues.
- I do think its a step in the right direct. I like how you can change the axis easily and quickly with just a mouse click. I am a bit confused on why when we change back and forth between the translation and rotation manipulators that we need to do this to change the axis manually instead of just clicking on the desired axis as we do with the default edit sphere. I see the control this gives, but seems to slow down the workflow as well.
-I’d like to be able to adjust the opacity of the shading around the edit sphere.
-For some reason setting a shortcut to change to the scale manipulator isn’t working for me. I believe Thomas stated that he was having some issues with the scale manipulator, having actually used the new manipulators in detail now I believe I can confirm that, it seems to just not work. I can only get one axis to work, no matter what I change in the block or what I click. Though I had similar issues with the default edit sphere, seeing as I rarely scaled, I wasn’t too concerned with it. But it should be looked at I’d say.
-I do think being able to create our own manipulators similar to how armatures are created is the way to go. But this is a step in the right direction.
