Hi guys, it’s been a while since my last post. Here is a matte painting I’ve just finished. I wanted to do something not too much fantasy, trying to keep it as real as possible. I’ve used 10-12 different photos and a lot of paint here and there.
Well, I really hope you’ll like it! C&C are more than welcome
thanks!

Well hope you don’t mind some suggestions. The technical work is really great, the way you composed your matte is stunning. But it doesn’t look real, it’s more like a fantasy movie shot where some magic hits and freeze the mountain. The reason is that in reality these green hills are located at relatively low altitude (less than 1 km above the sea level) while such mountain peaks is more common for high altitude (more than 3 km). You have snow at left but you absolutely have no snow at right mountain though it share the same altitude.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

hey elfa, as I said before comments and critics are more than welcome!
I think you’re probably right about the snow, maybe ther should be some on the right mountain. I’ve decided to leave it “green” 'cause i thought that some white on that side would have been a bit disturbing for the composition…yes, the effect is a bit “fantasy”, but basically that was the idea!
thanks again for your suggestion, I’ll keep it in mind next time!

thank you chris, and thanks to your colleagues too!

Great landscape. It does seem there’s a bit of discrepancy between the left and right mountains, but I did not think about it initially.
