new bob omb thread

I couldn’t find my old thread so I guess I will make a new one. This is my bob omb from a year ago. I finally pulled it back out and started texturing.

My geometry was garbage so I had a pretty hard time getting decent UV maps, they are not the best but I am hoping they will get me through. I had to remodel most of the legs and some of the optical assembly… do it right or do it twice I guess :shrug:

The leg wires still need to be modeled but I am not totally sure what to do about them yet.

I have done a first rough pass for the diffuse maps. I am hoping to polish things up and add my spec and bump this month.

That’s a interesting project, i like your interpretation of this character !
I would add some lights in the eyes, i don’t know why.
Do you plan on animating it then, for at least a walking cycle ? that could be amazing !

I will try out the eye lights.

I am not sure if I animating this. Originally I was just going model and texture, but I might do a walk cycle as well. I don’t do much (if any) rigging and animation so It would be good practice.

Great to see you back with this project, from I recall a while ago. ATM your re-working efforts at least in my humble opinion have paid off, looking forward too further updates.

It used to lock them out after a year, but maybe they changed it. I unlock it if need be.
