Network Render setup

#1

Hello all!

I hope this is in the right forum
At work I have 4 Apple computers available to me for rendering my Maya scenes. I am currently on a Mac Pro. I have two other Mac Pros and two iMacs. I was wondering how I can set up a network render to utilize the processors on all the the machines with the scene submitted from my computer.

I am not looking for fancy custom render GUI’s in Maya, just a system that will allow to submit this network render.

Does anyone have experience with this or know how to set it up? Also, will I need to purchase additional Maya render licenses?

This is a good, easy to use render manager for mac:

For the macs at my studio we use CGRU, which is more fully featured and rock solid reliable. But also a lot more complicated to set up (there isn’t even an officially available mac version), so pipeline would probably be your best bet.
