Netflix Makes $30M Worldwide Rights Deal For Animated ‘Next Gen’

#1

From May

“Just because Netflix withdrew its movies from playing here, that doesn’t mean it isn’t a player in the Cannes market. The streaming service has completed a worldwide distribution rights deal worth around $30 million for Next Gen, an animated feature film that is directed by Kevin R. Adams and Joe Ksander and has a voice cast including Charlyne Yi, Jason Sudeikis, David Cross, Michael Pena and Constance Wu. Script is by Adams, Ksander, Wang Nima and Ryan W. Smith.”
EDIT:
Made with Blender with rendering with Cycles (Blender’s render engine). Substance Painter and Photoshop were used for texturing. Houdini and Fume FX were used to generate VDB and Alembic data for import and render in Cycles
The animation for Next Gen was produced in Canada at Tangent Animation, which also made the animated feature Ozzy.

I’ve read a lot about this - clued into Next Gen from other threads. Really impressive work using Blender! What a talented team and what a way to show off how far Blender has come.
