Hey, I’m a first time poster and aspiring character artist. I’ve been trying to work on my line weights, but I can’t seem to get my characters to read as well as I would like. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for learning where/when to cary my line weights to get a better read? Thanks!
Some example of my recent lineart (I apologize for the link, still not sure how to embed the images into the actual post):
suggest moving away from sketches and try painting for a bit. Painting is mostly about edges, hard edge soft edge, lost edge etc. also lighting books are great lighting science and magic is a good book.
I would say try to think of the characters and forms as a whole instead of individually right now it looks like your drawing each are individually so it ends up feeling a bit more flattened than you would like if im not mistaken.
