Need feedback with LAPTOP purchase.

I am wanting to buy a laptop to run Maya2013 and the adobe products. I dont do very high-end animation, more modeling and simpler scenes.

I am looking at a Precision 6500 or 6700. Would these work ???

I would avoid laptops unless you just absolutely need the portability (which most users don’t). If you do get a laptop I’d look for one with 1920x1080 or larger resolution. I have a laptop with 1440x900 resolution that I use occasionally for 3D tinkering and it’s barely enough, though I didn’t buy it mainly for 3D work. Also I’d upgrade it 16GB of memory but you can do this yourself for cheaper if you can remove a few screws and follow instructions.

if you need a laptop, get something with a higher res screen than that. 1400x900 is not comfortable with Maya IMO.
