nCloth : painting vertex weights ignored with presets.

#1

we’re currently having issues with getting painted vertex weights to work after presets are use.

Think of nCloth bat wings. and paint a gradiant rigidity on the ‘fingers’, white at the top of the fingers and black at the bottom and in between.
Run simulation to make sure it works. yep.
Next we apply a preset (t-shirt).
and change rigidity to 1.
Run simulation to make sure it works. nope.
The painted vertex weights are now ignored and everything sims as if there is no painted vertex weights.

Oddly, if I just change values without the ‘presets’ nCloth still works correctly.
Any thoughts on why or how to fix this??

silly me. some deep searches answered my questions

“Rigidity is a global effect, not a relative and local effect like bend and stretch.”

When you paint a weight map in NCloth. It changes a setting at the same time. To tell nCloth to use per-vertex. Check to see if the reset has set it back to default “Texture”
