MY First Flash Portfolio

#1

I finally find a hosting solution that permits flash files, so I published my portfolio here temporarily. I was hoping to get some feedback from everyone!

The portfolio was used in my application to SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design).
Thankfully, I got accepted, and I am finally able to publish the portfolio on the net. I plan on using this to show people who want me to work for them some of my independent works.

I’d love to hear some c&c from anyone!
(Keep in mind, I’m still a beginner, but I enjoy computer graphics and deisng, so I’m dedicated.)

I’ve been working with flash off and on for about a year. I am enrolled in art school for the fall as a freshmen. This is the portfolio I submitted to them ( www.SCAD.edu )

I quite like the style of it. I think with a few quick changes you will be able to improve the presentation of it quite easily though.

Firstly i’d make the background image tile properly or get rid of it altogether and just go with a simple colour background. At the moment it distracts from the clean look of the site.
Think about paying for hosting, it’s not very expensive and will make the site look a lot more professional without the irrelevant advertising.
All the animation when the site first loads up is nice, but it takes far too long. A couple of seconds at most is all that you need to introduce the site, especially as it takes a while to preload up the site anyway.

Keep up the good work, and good luck at SCAD…

it would look a lot better if you increased the fps (frames per sec) in your flash document.

when you rollover the buttons, the button lights up with another colour. the colour fade is a bit slow…

i like the bgm you used.
