my brand new SuperNova logo!

#9

When i opened the atachment i could not see what it was, and than…Wow, holy cow…amazing art- The piece is execellent , no matter which machine or software you use the talented signature of Paul and Scott is there.

Hey Scott & Paul,

Its a beautiful logo. Very wonderfully executed. It snaps and the render is awesome.

#11

Paul, you maniac!

Here I am struggling with a couple of pitiful wine bottles and you produce this.

Awesome, though.

#12

Mucho thanks…I was happy with how it looked rendered in EI. EI certainly held it’s own in the render department quality-wise and speed-wise.

I really think it can be brought to life when Scott animates it - there is a very complex structure underlying everything and should prove to be an interesting visual puzzle.

Lots of fun to create - my sort of project. It would be good if it led to more work for Scott and myself in this vein.

One of my points in posting this was this. I can model pretty well on my own. I know I could have eventually made something pretty cool. (not done in 4 hours like the 2d sample on my web page.) but, I look at my career and image pretty seriously. So, even though I may be good at doing something, I looked for GREAT, not good. And for this, it was Paul.
He, let me direct him some but once he got closer, I let him go.

I will be redesigning my web page (also possibly hiring someone there as well) with this logo very prominent. I do hope and expect
people to request that kind of modeling skill from SuperNova. I can do it too  AFTER
I pick up the phone and call Paul and hire him again. A rising tide lifts all ships.

here is an expanded look at the logo, these are compressed pretty well.

#14

really compressed in progress samples. Thats all I have to post at this time.

#15

Thanks for your kind words Scott…I like being able to do what I do best. It was great that you trusted me enough to let me take it where it eventually ended up once you made sure I understood what you wanted.

#16

This is not just the logo, it’s the whole factory! This is really Supernova Scott. I’m sure your very happy with it. Great work Paul!

#17

your tellin me Richard! This logo alone, I truly feel will lend me instant hi end credibility.
me, being SuperNova. Hopefully my reel will live up to the logo. When I have the time I will replace the countdown on my reel with probably a 10-15 second logo build and special effects extravaganza!  I like to pressure myself to live up to my own silly hype.

Best decision ive made in a long time, to use Paul. He is so easy to work with and worked with me financially. No one will ever get how much it cost, out of me however.

Hi, Scott, Paul
That is a very nice logo, makes me think about a machine of beauty. Amazing piece, indeed!
Congrats for this new image.

Nice work guys!

Good idea.

#20

Once again…thanks guys.

C’mon Scott…tell us how much it cost!! LOL!! Just razzing you:-)

Just working on part 2 of it and it continues to be a fun project. I wish all clients and projects were so satisfying to work with and on.

#21

well Paul, working with ME is a JOY, that is obvious!

And Allan, you are soooo predictable, I knew you did not care for my countdown…

Then again, getting compliments on my work from you is like opening a can of tuna with a fork.

Im surprised I am even dealing with you “still” artists.

#22

No problem with the countdown but that logo could make for a 10x cooler opening. It begging to be animated.

Don’t hurt yourself, a can opener works better.

#23

for any one that cares to see, I have adapted the logo to work for the main page of my updated website. web.mac.com/finaleffects

still under construction, but the main page is pretty set

Oooohh Shiny:-)

#25

HEY! YOU did the shiny to ME, my friend.:buttrock: Remember, shiny has earned me
a six figure salary for the last 9 years straight, mixed in with a little non shiny work.:stuck_out_tongue:

Take a look at Fox News and CBS, unfortunately, they love shiny and lots of it.

On a tiny little serious note, I do love all styles of animation, I recently presented a 4 minute reel of ONLY 2d animation work to a clients request. I have it, it just doesn’t sell
as well for me. If given a chance, I am definately going to fill out my reel with a few more
styles.

Well the best I can hope for is that I do good “shiny”

#26

I love doing shiny stuff and have gotten known for it…I can’t get enough shiny 3D!

I like the changes you made to the materials and the addition to the floor.

When are you going to animate it?

#27

Scott.
Your site is looking VERY cool now.
Choosing Paul to help was a great move.
I’d love to see you animate one of Paul’s shiny creations.

I have a simple camera move countdown with the image piece, happening first, so I can at least get my reel back up and running, lots of good jobs im missing out on.

Ive had too many ‘wise guys’ give me a hard time about how I was going to put this on a business card. So, at my discretion, I know refer to this artwork as my SuperNova “image Piece” People can be so jealous and competitive.

As for animationg this. I see it as a 3 to 4 week project. When I find some time, and it makes sense, I will dive into it. I could do something quicker, but I want to animate it as well as Paul modeled it… (I have some early concepts im pretty excited about)
