I’m working on a ‘making of’ for the 3dtotal website and also for the ‘Digital Art Masters’ book, and I’ll be explaining better than. But as a quick description I would say I used a high vray environment (5,0) and some vray lights pointing inside from all the openings. Some Vray pointing to the brise soleil at the top as well, to give them a bit of more lightening and create the felling that light is actually coming from there.
