I have just release a 3d sculpting tool for animation caches. The tool is meant to be used to add a extra level of detail and secondary animation on caches. It also has a system to transfer details across different shots to avoid the artist to re-sculpt similar poses over and over. there are a few videos showing the tool in action and a documentation page on the website:
I’m a 3d artist and I also do rnd. I’ve been studding and doing shot sculpt myself for quite along time and I believe this tool has some unique features that can some a lot of time in production =)
It works with alembic caches, you can import multiple caches and cameras to the same scene and export it back to your main application.
