Multiple images from the same 3d file

#1

I’m working in Rhino w/ flaming.

What is the best way to handle multiple rendered images from the same 3d
file. Each image seems often to require a totally different light set,
different view and sometimes other changes in ground plane, background, texture etc.

I’ve been trying to save the views with a name that indicates a layer of lights for that layout. That works to a point, but does not account for other changes that might be necessary. In any event saving half a dozen or more images seems cumbersome, but that is often what I want to do to get a number of “snap shots” of a boat for the web or other purposes.

The alternative seems to be keeping separate Rhino files of each set up, however, that takes a lot of disk space overhead. It also complicates thing if the boat itself changes at any point.

There is also the problem of being able to understand the setup so that a particular image can be reproduced if necessary at a different resolution or with some other minor change.

I’m curious what are others doing within this software package or are others better in this regard.

there is a flyby mode which can do frames for an animation that may be worth a look at since its automated. I dont know if it can tell you exactly which frame you like best since i rarely use it.
