Multi-Pass Render

Hi Guys,

So since you have all answered my ridiculous questions, I’m now up to rendering!
I’ve been told that doing a multipass render is the way to go, and it makes sense as it would give me a lot more control.

What is the best way to do this? i have been searching all over looking for the best way (read: easiest) to get a multipass render. It seems like i will need a plug-in or 3rd party app?

Basically, what is the easiest way for a rookie like me to get a multi-pass render happening?

Never mind that.

I just found out I’ve been living in the 90’s. Seems like lightwave has a pretty simple way of doing it.
