mudbox+ptex+mutiple computers=HELP

Hey guys!

Currently working on a character for my character modeling class. Since our teacher only ask for a turn table on this project, I thought : heck yeah, no UV’s, no retopology, i’m going to do ptex in mudbox, gonna save a lot of time!

well…

I started of doing a base mesh in sculptris, and ended up doing retopo anyway to have something that works properly in mudbox.

Then, I started to paint my model, working well and all, and boum! Some tools in mudbox started to be a little to much on party mode. I closed mudbox, and…

When i opened back my project, my ptex map where all f*ck up. Since I was only at the beginning, I restarted my painting. Upon doing some test with different saves, I realized that every time i close mudbox, my map were messed up, but only on my body mesh. (eye ball are fine).

If I export the ptex file before closing my project, and import them back when I open it, it works so… technically, problem solve. but no.

All those thing were made on my computer at school. But no matter what I do, I can’t get it to work on my computer at home. (my eye ball still work at home)

Plus, even tho I have add the lines into my mentalray file and all, I can’t get ptex to work within maya 2014. I’ve also tried it in maya 2015, which support ptex, and no more result, all black. (problem with maya are on both computers)

Does someone have an idea on what’s going on?

You just need to connect a node to your rendering engine (ie: mental ray, v ray, etc) and connect it to the shader of your object. Also this video could help:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etpX2BNnrxo . He goes over how to connect them to the right shaders.

Yup, already done that. Dise à subdivision approximation, put à mis_material_x and connected the mid_ptex to that.
