Mudbox 2014 Retopology

Hi

I have a high res character mesh with existing UVs and unwrapped texture and want to retopo it in Mudbox. When I retopo it the new mesh needs to have UVs applied therefore making the existing texture useless.

Does anyone know a way to transfer the UVs and apply the existing texture to the new retopologized model ?

creating new uvs and bake it over is the cleanest way…

or you have do do the retopo by hand with exact cuts on the borderedges of your uv shells and do a transfer uvs in maya… but that near to impossible…

You’re right, I had to create new UV’s and in Max projected the texture from the high poly mesh to the retopo mesh. Thanks for your help !
