I’ve been playing with Silo’s free trial to see if it makes a good fit for me to use making objects for use in DAZ Studio.
So far, it’s been pretty good except for one thing.
I have made most of a lamp with different materials for different objects. Some I’ve UV Mapped and others I have left default.
I have assigned each object a material in the material editor.
When I export an OBJ to go into DAZ, Silo doesn’t export a matching mtl file, so when it goes into DAZ, it is all one material called default.
It is the same when importing back into Silo, so it isn’t the importer in DAZ.
Here is a screen shot of the app’s materials settings, file settings and the object. There is nothing in the scene using the default Silo material. I’ve tried exporting with Objects as groups both on and off.
I’m about to give up on Silo entirely. If I can’t export materials, then it doesn’t do me any good.
I’d appreciate any help I can get.
