MSE graphics practum ideas?

Hi
I am doing a general software engineering masters.
I am having trouble determining a practum.
it is a 3 month summer project slanted toward research, resulting in a 10 page paper/report.
The research slant is throwing me off.
any ideas related to graphic.

animation, object recogition, point based graphics comes to mind.
