mParticle collision in event 1 influence in event 2

#1

I’m new here, so hello to everybody and sorry for my English :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m trying to figure out how to use PF for 2 days.

I have a problem with collisions with situation like this:
event 1 (mp world 1) have particles which collides/ fall on one object by mp collision operator. When those particles get settle, after some time they go to another event 2 (mp world 1 instance-cause i need particles from event 1 collides with those from event 2). Event 2 absorbing particles in to the object just by gravity, but it cant be done, because the collision object from mp collision operator ( Event 1 ) is still influencing particles ! I don’t get this ! WHy ?! There is no mp collision operator in event 2…

Another way i thought will be to create two events with two different mp worlds, so then those worlds have different collision objects in fact, but there is no collisions between particles from event 1 and 2 and i don’t know how to setup collisions like this…

Do you have maybe any solution for situation like this ?

This didn’t use to be the case in the earlier versions of box 2 but they changed it that once a mpcollision is used it is propagated down to further events. There is also a ‘bug’ that if you’re second event has a mpcollision, you’re first event that does not contain one will collide as well. :frowning: I’ve already complained about this…

I say revert to the old way , because that is why we have events… or give us the ability to exclude include events/particles from the mp collisions. But most likely it will remain. garrrr.

It was implemented for speed purposes if i remember correctly, could be wrong. But maybe John Rand can speak more about it.

EDIT: Sorry i forgot you asked for a solution. I’m not sure I have one But If Johnny says use TP instead i will bang my head :banghead:

thx for answer.
Still how no idea how to do it. What do you mean by “use TP” ?
I will PM to John…

I agree with Nico, or at the very least we should have channel control over this so we can control it via data op.

Here is a total cheat method:

Ohh YEAH ! Thank you very much ! Looks like solution which i was searching for !!

I thought that i dont understand the PF. So nice tool with such huge and unlogic limitation…

THX THX THX once more ! I lost a lot of time trying to do it somehow…

I’ll have to check out the file when I get home. Very curious on how you cheated it Johnny.
