Hi all!
Here is a race movie which takes place on 70’s.
This is a 3 months work, rendered with 3dsmax, originally with finaltoon shaders, but due to some imperfections of final render, the mental ray render has took my preference…and a short deadline pushed me to make a choice sooo fast… I hope you will like this movie!!!

no critics…all is very homogeneous, it’s cool and fresh 
some GTA’s atmosphere, i like it
looks like a trailer of a video game, is this the case ?

It’s nice the style and the characters :applause: , but about the cars I have some worries; they didn’t balance as they should; sometimes they bank the contratry side, they have not a real weight.
There’s a scene in which the wheel transpases the car’s body :surprised
I think she must have more specular, cause sometimes is difficult to see.
And, finally, the animation of the laughs is a little rigid…

okay i admit that one week of texturing and one week of animation…thats not enough i know;) time is a powerfull enemy sometimes:p

overall its very cool … reminds me of a cross between GTA3 and funkycops (saturday morning cartoon here in the states)
aside from the usual comments (tire peircing body, etc.) i would say to swap the way the two cars act.
corvettes for the most part are glued to the road. corvettes with independent rear ends tend to ‘squat’ before taking off. mustangs on the other hand tend to be the loose sliding ‘hot-rod’ with lots of horsepower (leaf spring rear ends do that kind of stuff). being in the 70s, the vette is worth far more then the stang as well… so the more expensive/fancy car would be the vette.
i would think being from (Edited : France) you may not be able to see these cars ‘street racing’ in real life, so this is more of a heads up on the cars and how they act, not a rip on you.
is that AdR’s mustang ?
i loved the intersection scene with the A-team and starsky & hutch
your endo/wheelstand with the scooter at the end is also out of place… by about 15/20 years

It is true that cars comportments are completely false cause i dont take enough time to compare with films and made all animations in one week…i ve played with meshes like toycars when i was child :p:p
And i dont see often such cars in france …
Just for the story, i began my project two years ago, and the synopsis was : Two guys, cops, an afroamerican afrohaired and a white man blondhaired and with a moustache… a big car like camaro or thunderbird… taking place in SanFrancisco…in 70s…
Well…After 4 months of work on it, scenario, drawings etc. Antefilm (animation studio in france) created FunkyCops!!!
Argh!!! what the f**k!!!
so thats a little story which make me laught now but not two years ago:)

but I think this is not bad at all, there is some bugs… but the environment is very cool and funky!!! And the story a bit funny!
