motionbuilder 7.5-> maya 6.5

i’ve been trying to open fbx files from mb 7.5 in maya 6.5 and my character is always getting into maya all mangled up. if i open the fbx file without the bones the character is fine but once i import with the bones and animation then the model gets contorted.

does anyone know how i can fix this? thanks.
