Motion Blur along path?

Hi there,

can anybody tell me to create motion blur along a certain path, like along a curvy road? The attached rendering by Jeff Patton shows what I try to do.

So far I only know how to create straight motion blur in Photoshop.

Photoshop CC 2014 has a “Path blur” filter to do just that:

Thanks a lot for the great tipp! Right now I am working with CC v14.2.1. which doesn’t seem to have the Blur Gallery. I guess I will have to update then. Will do that.

Can you also think of other techniques to accomplish this goal pre CC 2014?

You can make a path on top of what you want to blur, then in the paths panel, right click on the path, choose ‘stroke path’ and in the panel that pops up choose the blur tool. Set the blur tool parameters before you do this.
