modo and poly by poly modeling

hello to everybody and excuseme is the question seem stupid

Is there in modo any tool or way to create a face or object like in this tuto.

can i create a poly and after other using the vertices of the first???

In this tuto the poly s are created very …very fast and all are ONE , and dont use the tool join or merge vertices, only select one vertice and create other polygon.

This isn’t quite the same thing as I wasn’t using a reference image, but you get the idea…

There’s a script that will do 4th point from 3 that Griffon wrote as well. So both examples are covered

i found point to point modeling abit weird. I still prefer box modeling for most things(call me Crazy):

As a noob, i learn alot from this tut…so i highly recommend this tutorial to all noobs. After going thru this tut…you’ll wont need to read anymore tutorials…:smiley: we’ll at least i didnt.

that’s not really point-to-point except for the first polygon, is it?

i very much like modo, but i find it odd that many have noticed the lack of a good append polygon tool, like either maya or xsi (and i lean toward xsi’s given a choice), yet luxology folk blithely continue to pretend that it’s not needed? or that it’s already there somehow?

yes, i know i can select a number of verts and make a poly from them, but it’s a workflow thing, n’est-ce pas?

Well i am very interested in the ways to modeling in modo and the workflow.

When you create a polygon can you create other with the same vertices only pointer over one of the vertices???

ihope the images show this better than my words;)

deltar, just turn on the geometry snap and use the pen tool (in polygon menu). When you click around vertexes it snaps to them AND welds them as well. when the poly is created instead of hitting spacebar shift left klick to create a new polygon. enjoy.

EDIT. it’s weird, sometimes it doesn’t weld. then I have to use merge vertices before smoothing.
