OKAAAY here is how this is gonna work first ill teach u to some important tools, then were gonna doodle, then were gonna shade and colour and then were gonna do materials…and tons of other useful stuff, so buckle up were taking off:D

first thing s first i noticed many fail to notice where the other brushes and brush settings are located, so to clear that up

#5

Thank you, tahnk you, thank you:D
thank god i have CS:D

#6

i don’t have CS…oh well,good tutorial while it lasted for me.heh.

#7

okay u got the tools now lets get it on

STEP ONE- DIGITAL DOODLE

never underestimate the power of a digital sketch, it is the thing that will shape ur pen tablet motorical skills…unless u r one of those who have that lcd tablet thingie. now us mortals may have a handicap but it just seems so in the start. u need the doodle to also make ur moves more conntrolled and more fluent, so i would appreciate seing ur doodles pouring in:D keep it simple and fast, mind the structure

#8

thanks for the tips, i will show you my doodles soon:D

#9

okay now its time to define some important stuff. how often u wondered why is it that ur picture just doesnt have the realism u aimed for… as if something is missing, u laid the shadows propperly…materials work fine but it s still missing something

that something is called GLOBAL ILLUMINATION
it is a phenomena of the dispersed no direction reflected light that is cast on the object, it is well known in 3d art that illumination creates soft fleshy shadows in the depression areas of the object

#10

Awesomeness, thanks much for posting these, Nebezial! Will you be posting more, or are people supposed to post doodles first?

Great tutorial!!!

~Rebeccak

#11

thank you, as soon as i have enough doodles i’ll post them:D
i’m going to save every doodle i make from now on.

#12

several more to go:D now as i said there are deppression areas, and as we know the hardest to make convincingly is human face so i made a lil mapout of depression areas

#13

this information is useless,u have yet to impress me…

  hehehe

#14

ok here is more, read on

#15

my knowledge is increasing… i need more mast, more:D
(sorry i suck att spelling and typing with a keyboard:Di’m such a messy typer:D)

#16

well now well do directional lights, u see the best realism comes with combining both directional and global light

now some facts, sun is a so called parallel light source. it casts paralel shadows which makes them predictable and possible to calculate. i have learned for myself that there are two best ways to do a shadow study for a person. but remember that sun is a paralel lightso allways set the light soutce and then draw paralel lines on the endpoints, that u should do on simplified versions one way is a free simple croqui or a quick doodle:D

#17

the other way to approach shadow analysis is to geometrise your motif

#18

i see, thank you very muchos.

#19

how do u know more english words that me? and its ur second language.

DAMN U! good stuff so far!

#20

ok and now a prewiew of things to come, stay tuned people ill go whoop up some more tut waffles:D
