I recently graduated from VANARTS and this is my final modeling and texturing reel.
Thanks a lot to my friends and teachers at vanarts, Fausto De Martini, Daniel Araujo, Duncan Graham for their comments, Aazim khan for his support…and my parents and god to be there always with me.

I’m looking for work as a highres/lowres modeler and texture artist.

Great job! It’s rare to actually see a character in an environment on a modeling reel these days. Very dynamic camera moves too, a pleasure to watch. Modeling and texturing get 2 thumbs up from me!

congrats bhai , great reel, congrats on the front page…all the best:bounce::bounce::bounce:

Nicely presented reel. There’s really not much to say about it, very solid work and everything seems to look right. However, i think more careful attention is needed to the material values and shader work in such areas like the blood stains on the claw, as well as the skin and armor. I think your overall spec map needs work in all your main characters, and the color map could use more detail. Much of your zbrush work gets washed away by the diffuse texture of your creature for example. I find the aspects and tweaks needed for your reel very similar to one demo that just recently got front page as well.

Good luck with your job hunt.

Very nice reel and congrats on your grad. You should find a nice job, but imo there are a few texturing problems that stand out to me. It seems the edges of your metal pieces have a constant wear on them and looks a little too uniform… perhaps have the paint still on some parts of the edge. Your male model at first glance looked low poly because it looked like you painted in the shadows surrounding each muscle… this might be the style you’re going for, but it would look more realistic if you focused purely on the shadows casted from light sources. Other than these, you have an amazing reel. You have a great eye for detail in your texturing… awesome job.

I’ll follow by congratulating you on graduation… I know how it goes, I’ve got about 5 more weeks till graduation and I have plenty of work to do in the meantime.

I agree with the guys that your texturing is loosing some of the details, one of the other things that I had noticed is that you are using black background like most people but when you have dark textures on your characters this causes the detail and character to dissapear into the background… this is very apparant in your beast model.

I really like the environment scene that you have set up, but I feel that your camera shots could be slowed down by about half to let the viewer see the detail that you are obtaining with your normal maps, right now when the camera flys by I’m only able to get a quick glimpse and when you show the character later in your reel you do not show those same modeled equipment, or the close ups that you have in the environment scene.

One of the things I do like about your work is that your character and equipment has a feel that it’s been out in the real world for a time being and that it’s been beaten up and used unlike most of the very clean models we see these days, but I’m going to have to agree that the way you are doing it seems to be very uniform… the scratches are great, but having the paint worn off on all the edges goes very far…

The care is very nice, but it does show up a bit dark on my monitors up here at work, and also starts to blend in with the background in some areas just like your beast model…

Ok, but other then those things I think you have a very awesome Demo Reel… deffinantly one of the best ones I’ve seen recently and I’m sure you’ll be at that awesome job here soon, so Good Luck and once again congratulations.

Very nice modeling and texturing throughout the reel. Congrats on the front page as well.

My one criticism concerns the car shown at the end of the reel. Simply put, I don’t think it’s your strongest work, either in modeling or texture detail. It sort of feels like you tossed it on there at the last minute as a W.I.P.

It’s not a bad model, by any means. I just don’t feel it leaves the viewer with a very representative impression of your skills. My suggestion would be to move it to another spot on the reel or drop it. End on a strong note.

My $0.02.

u did a great work ,man congratulations!!

I like the feeling u got for the scene , and my suggestion is that u could make the texture more colorful~~~~ most furnishments of the man is in a gray style
