After my learning experience lesson in the Arachnid post I’ve decided to try modelling a tug. A little closer to home as I’m a naval architect.
Heres the frist shot (early days yet…)
Any comments stil very welcome…

here’s a quick update. working on the thruster and cowling at the aft end.
can anyone let me know what this means… Trying to bridge two parts but getting message “an object with vertex colours cannot be bridged with an object with materials”. I do not recall setting and vertex colours (or any materials other than the default for that matter).
Can anyone help??
Anyway heres a pic. Will maybe start the anchor or main tow windlass next…who knows!!

Currently there are 2 material modes in wings: material with uv or vertex colors.
You can convert between them if you select the object,
RMB, ‘colors to materials’ or ‘materials to colors’

Finished the thruster and added the anodes and bolt details. Also finished the bulwark round the vessel and starting to block out the superstructure.
Any one any advice on what the best way to work is as I’m finding myself switching between fleshing out large parts and adding detail.
Is it best to flesh out the blocks and then detail later or add detail as you go along?
Festive Regards

Not much happening on this thread but thought I would make a post to keep progress updates going.
Spent a little time working on completing the bulwark, bulwark rubber fendering and bow rope guide.
As always, C&C welcome…

also, heres a small overview of where I am. Lower decks of superstructure fleshed out and can start adding watertight door details.
