Mirroring subtools

How do I use local symmetry for newly created subtools? I tried the Mirror function and enable the L Sym button but it doesn’t seem to work.
Also about saving- should i use “save document” or “save file”? what is the difference?

is your symmetry button on ? if you have L sym on, it should work. Try pressing X.
You should save it as a ZTL. You can also save it as a ZPR but that will save your whole project which is multiple ZTL within your project. Saving as a ZTL will save just that one. Saving Document is just saving the canvas area.
