Mirror (symmetry) a noise shader?


Hi, I am trying to mirror a noise shader inside the displacerobject. The result should be a symmetry noise distorted geometry. I’ve tried the layer/transform effect shader on top on the noise. It looks okay in thematerial preview but does not work on the actual displacement. A workaround is to use the symmetry object on the mesh, but this causes some problems on the welding points, especially if the noise is animated. Any suggestions?


With the noise applied in UV space, you can mirrorr half of the UVs and stack them on top of the other half.
