Is there a function that can flip or mirror duplicate a geometry or a set of bones in the X,Y,Z axises?
Mirror duplicate a object.
For objects, use the Mirror modifier (its best the geometry is to one side of the mirror axis so you can see the results). Apply the mirror when satisfied. This will make the original and the mirror united as one object. Go to Edit mode and select the mirror. Hit ‘P’ key and choose ‘selection’ to make the mirror separate. Go back to object mode …
You have a mirrored Object!
If you want it done in one click, the process has to be scripted OR maybe there is a scripted tool like that already. I won’t know.
ctrl-m
often overlooked mirroring tool.
It uses your active pivot point and you have to press x, y or z to define the mirroring plane after ctrl-m.
As far as i remember it should work for all object types.
Cool.
I should have known that. Only that it mirrors the object and not its duplicate. So, a Shift+D, cancel, Ctrl+A, and Ctrl+M should do it. I add Ctrl+A because its it resets the location transforms allowing for mirroring about the origin.
