Thank you for you advice!
It sounds good.
I’ve got used more to MAYA Hair than ZBrush, so it is possible choice.
But what my master has pointed out is definite lack of dessin skill — perception & drawing. As matter of cource, I have to train my real hand’s skill with pencil & papers.

Thnx for encouragement!

Hi there!

My master gave me a instruction for me to make both MAYA Hair & ZBrush version. So I’ve started to make mock-up surface for later use of both directions. I wish I can make certain result soon, but it will take a short while.

C&C are welcome!

Good Evening!

Well…
I’ve done 1 hour chalenge for small experinment by MAYA Hair (a little bit over :D).
The follicle curves for this hair design are dupulicated randomly by multiplied MEL commands in EXCEL, and I assigned the “hairSystem” according to Mike Fudge’s tutorial.

I know there are a lot of defects, but it is very easy for me to use MAYA Hair like this. I remenber that I had done a tiny hack to the MAYA Hair scripts themselves, but it is out of date.

From now, I have to do more organic hair creation in step-by-step follicle curve tweaking. And it will be better to use the mock-up surface also, which is baked the hair texture… it will decrease the rendering costs a lot!

And … I must make the sculpt version for this hair design by ZBrush … my master’s order.

C&C are welcome!

Now you’re talking! This looks to be in the right direction Koji!

Interesting style. A nice alternative to the long flowing hair do.

Yeah, Thnx Giom!

Good Afternoon!
It’s sunny day in spring on the contrary to Yesterday cold in near Tokyo.

I’ve tested to reduce rendering time more.
The number of fibers are reduced and textured mock-up surface is displayed.
And also the volume of whole hair is decreased, so it seems more natural & reasonable for this kind of pulled-back hair.

C&C are welcome!

P.S.
For eyeblows & eyelashes, I got a lot of scold from my master. He instructed me to express the volume & flow of them. Maybe I have to tweak them manually one by one… sigh…

Hi!

I went to a small library in town, and viewed some photo books about Renessance Art. I have to learn more, more & more about Fine Arts.

After that, I did a play for current Miranda.
C&C are welcome!

Hi.
Tonight, I have a short advertisement (?) of myself.
Now you can see my oldest work “Splendid Views of Picturesque Landscapes” in YouTube (NTSC)!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01ctQNeoD54

 It's 12 years before.
Before this personal composition, I was working in a broadcasting company in Japan, that was my first job after graduation from a university.

After some tasks in NEWS reporting CG, I was brought up to a project team, which is to make a pilot movie in highvision format that is "animated Chinese old ink painting". It was too much heavy task, and I'd over-worked a lot to make a millions-polygon's scene for PowerAnimator (oh, what a terrible for that app in that age.). Finally, I succeeded to put it into SIGGRAPH' 97 Electric Theater ...... but then I was broken...... And in the next job at a famous JAPANIMATION production, I was ...... destroyed completely...... and my exile had begun. In some period, I was a Systems Engineer, in other period, I was a cook...... And by an accident, I became a patient of Schizophrenie......

 Now.
I'm almost at the release point for my Miranda.
I wish I can make a lot of other NPR-look movies like old paintings for both Eastern & Western Art in near future.

"Prospero" in "The Tempest" by W.S. told his daughter "Miranda" that
"Twelve years since, Miranda, twelve years since",

and the story of “Prospero’s Books” will begin.

Please take a look at MY START if OK.

Hi!

I’ve worked to make MAYA Hair System from ZERO, and done a lot of manual tweaks.
I think it’s getting natural a little bit more, but the rendering cost is too much high… then I have to tune up this hair. This is only good for still portraits. Furthermore, some random fibers will increase the reality of this, I’ll try to make it tomorrow.

C&C are welcome!

#492

Definitely getting better  i like the results. Keep it up man! :buttrock:

#494

Hello!

Here’s an little update for the hair.
My master will instruct me to make the border between skin and hair more natural, I’ll do it. But now I have to give a lot of efforts for eyebrushes & eyelashes.
C&C are welcome!

#495

Hi!

How about this?
C&C are welcome!

(EDIT: )
Image replaced.

P.S.
Those hair follicle curves are generated from lofted NURBS surface, and those surfaces are generated from a few NURBS curves. These mock-up obejcts maintain its construction history still, so it will be easy to refine those shape for hair style. But I have to care about the HairSystem in animation even for this kind of static hair style. I will solve this issue in near future.

#496

man that is coming along nicely! you’ve inspired me to strive harder on my first human modeling:bowdown:

Thnx!!

#498

Hi all!!

There’s little update for face.
And also I tried to test make-up on the rendered image by Photoshop.
Anyway I have to suspend this task, and switch to refinement on muscle rig.
C&C are welcome!

Hi…

I’m little bit tired, so have continued tweaking on MISSS fast skin shader.
The resulting images as below.

Hello renpoo,

First I love the rendered hairs .
Maya seems pretty good at this task !

About the SSS I have just one crit .

The SS amount seems too high .
Perhaps you should tweak down the overall scale factor that’scontrol the overall amount of SSS .

Keep going renpoo, this female character progress every day ^^
