Minas Tirith

Hi all

After I seen the movie (Lord Of The Rings III : Return Of The King) the first thing that make me wondering the modeling of the city of Gondor (Minas Tirith) all I can say is wow cause this city is really wonderful…

after this introduction I really draem of modeling this city with all the dtails and interiors of it (I know that’s crazy) but that’s why I am sayin a dream … so any one want to share the dream with me???
Ok I am treing now to search for more referances images for the city … so I can choise the start point of modeling any one can help in searching for images ?? or any one that have the movie and can capture some images or short clips for the city?

Ok here is my first try ,any one who is interist in doing some modeling work just tell me and I’ll send the refrance images as soon as I collect more and more …

Im not really into modeling architecture so Im not gonna offer my help ;0 HOWEVER, it would be awesome if you got even part way through this. I suggest you just keeping posting your progress in this post and eventually people will want to help out. Just give it time

Drawings by John Howe, or Allan Something, they were the concept artists of the city and they drew a lot of tolkien art in the past. You can also try special featres DVD’s lots of information on construction of the cities.

I don’t need only a architecture modeler I also need organicas modeler and artist for texture and animator artist but in the next level of course :wink:
any way if u like to help just tell me what u r spicilized in and I 'll find somthing for u it’ll be great to have a partiner in my dream at this time

I have collect some good and helpful images until now but of course still need more …
I 'll send them as soon as I organize them and choise the best as referanse for modeling in 3d

I think he had done a great work … but when we do it as a team work I think it will be better cause we will collect the best expirenses and the more detailed that we could do :wink:

any way I had asked him to join the up coming team of the Minas Tirith builder
and hey I am still waiting for ur answer to join as an organics modeler if u good in this field cause I 'll need to modele some status of horses and heros and some organics decorations …

Ok thx for taking time to search … I had seen this page before and it had some good ref. images and I start modeling from one of these image ,but the problem with it is the image have a small resolution so I think we will use the url that jayreef had found until now ok… and u can search while u modeling.

very good start …ok I think u like to be with interiors as I see u had done a nice work ,keep going…
and this will be the first assaiment to u (The King Room) …
update us with the new changes and progress.

I think we will divide the project into two catogaries (Exterior and Interiors)…
The next step we need is to organize the building we working in as no so we can collect them with there interior in the end .
So the interior which jayreef work with will take the ID of ( kI-01 )
and until we find a good ref. for the exterior for it ,it’ll be ( KE-01 )
and the building I am working with I can’t figure out exactly the place of it in the city … so the next problem we have is a layout for the city…
any way good start ppl and hope to see more member in the project…

I am still a beginner modeler…so I dont think I can actually model for this project, tho I can look for in-depth pictures, etc.

what a good place to practice your beginning modelling, give a go dude, there are loads of tutorials out there:thumbsup:

I agree with jayreef u can give it a try and of course we will help u by comments and incoregment :beer:
any way keep in searching for images cause I think we need loads of them …
the next problem we have also is the ftp cause we need a space to collect our modules so we can organize our building in the future of course ,and still the layout of the city is needed …
the organics modeler for the statues and decroation r needed…
