hey synthesizer
i think itās a great start⦠but one thing iāve found to help me when doing heads is to find some really good reference photos to compare to. get a front and side shot of someone and use that as the image plane in your program. once you do that, youāll notice that things start looking more solid, than if you were trying to remember how the human head works without the referece
Minas Tirith Project || Part 2
The bookcase looks great, i was out of town last week, i couldnāt do much on my building but i am back and i should finish it off soon.
Tabha
Maybe this one is usefull? I found it a few weeks ago.
(It are the statues in front of the great rock in the middle of the city)
Hereās another bookcase, Iām not completely satisfied with the result though⦠It looked like the best one on paper, but I think that it doensāt in 3dā¦
Hmmmā¦this is a very hard workā¦but for now is impressing! I hope to see soon now updates!
peace
Hereās a small, very small update. The birdwings on top were an idea from Synthesizer, and it works really well to get the MT style into it.
me also send a small update of the roots (i“m very bussy with work, but a few minutes a day i could dedicate to MTproyect).

very nice bookcase
, the birdwings look great on it
Hi all! I would like to collaborate in the project but I lack the knowledge in 3D required⦠if you need any plane in 2D to carry out a figure 3D starting from it, I can make it in autocad with no problems.
hey, that was allways my dream to cooperate on such project. i mostly like to model things as close to real thing as possible with many details. im a 3d artist with 2 years in cg so im not begginer or guru, but i would love to join in.
just give me some building and a reference and i can strat =)
@amon-amok: Nice work! Keep it up. I would love to see this one in the oncoming viewer
@Karadhras: Thanks for your offer. I donāt really find this necessary personally. I can model from a perspective reference without too much trouble. But maybe there are other teammembers who do like to have 2D references?
@mathew_er: Welcome. Iāll look for a building for you later today.
@All: I worked some more on the animation. Hereās a little render of a book:
@Mathew_er: You can do this building if you like.

HI,
Pjanssen, U had told me to change a few thing on my building, Dose it look better then before?
I am still not clear on one of the things u had said to change: āThe spikey things on the corners should be a sort of birdwings motives. (Can be seen on other refs).ā Can u please show me an example.
Here is the picture:
Hello friends,
There is the last update about my building, i think it is done, but if you have some correction to make, tell me. Surely the windows and doors need more detail (I hope Pier can help me with the spline-extrude technique for the details he use), but it currently weight near 60.000 triangles and i dont know if the render engine can manage such detail with all buildings in the city.

That looks awesome.
Donāt worry too much with the polycount, i will use automatic level-of-detail intensively to help reducing the polycount in the distance. Whatās important is not the overall polycount, but to not make small details with a too high polycount. Iād advise 10k-20k for a small building, 30k-60k for a medium one, and 60k-150k for a large one, like a tower. Very large buildings, like the hall, can obviously be more, although iād advise for instance and for obvious reasons, to not put two halls or two towers close to each other. Also donāt forget that we donāt need FPS-like framerates. A solid 15-25 fps would be enough to visit the city.
Y.
Hi all,
i am getting very busy with personal projects and I will be starting school soon, so I was wondering if anyone wanted to do the statues on the door for gate-1. I will still do the main door part. Let me know if you are interested because there is no way I will be able to finish it.
hi people, well I think that i finish the work on the roots of the tree, now i start with the main branches.
here is:

here a wire top view

I hope you like the wip. Also C&C always welcome.
@senmonjin: Te ha quedado bien chulo el edificio ![]()
@Ysaneya: in the new viewer will be textures? if the answer is yes, will be a bump maps? diffuse maps? shadow maps? alpha maps? thanks
