Hey, I was busy for a while, but I got a bit done on the doors. I think I am finished that bottom stuff with the sword.
P.s.: Pjanssen: I got the polys down to 1600 each rather than 3500 when I showed it to you before.

Here is a small update. Very nice work AMoN-AMoK, I cant wait to see it all textured and with leaves and stuff.
well, here is the tree. The limit of polycount was 10K polys.

Now i start the texturice of it, and the leaves and flowers. You think that will be a very follyage, or only a bit?
@Synthesizer & AMoN-AMoK:
Great work both! Keep it up.
I don’t have much time now that I started my new study, but I will try to give you some updates before the viewer realese in October
Hi, I am wanting to model another building (its boring just doing the doors:) ), so I will pick one and post it up here to see if it is being worked on by anyone.
Edit: I think I will do 3-lf-05. It looks to be the same as 3-lb-02 and 3-rf-06. Let me know if you have already started this.
Wow Pjanssen just pointed me to this thread and I must say I am impressed! Great thread! I’ll read all 10 pages now
And a special surprise for you: 22 more pages to read

Where it all began
@AMoN-AMoK: Nice start on the textures. I think it really needs a bump to make it more ‘powerfull’. And there are of coarse some uvwmap errors, but you’ll have noticed that too I’m sure.But the style of the bark looks good! Please enlighten us with more WIPs
@Synthesizer: Nice start on that building! My only comment now is that I think that everything is a little too much extruded. Try to make the difference between the extruded and not extruded parts a little more subtle.
@All:
My progress has been really slow last week. Here’s a small update, some sort of writingdesk. I also worked on the lighting and composition of the intro, but I can’t show anything of that yet. I’ve still got much to do on that…
I guess I should have read this before I did more work. Oh well
Here is another update, but it will need some tweaking I guess.
I just thought of something, we should have the walls and each level done roughly just so that people get a sense of how big this thing will be when we are done. All we need is just a flat part for each level and a clyinder with a hole in the middle for the walls, if you know what I mean. I could do it if I got the distances from level to level and the radius of each level proportional to each other. I could use the same ones that Pjanssen used for the demo. Anyway, let me know what you think cause I start school full time on next wednesday so I will be busy pretty soon. Wow that was a lot of typing:)
Here is an update on my building. This is what I meant for the walls, although in a circle, of course.
Yet another update(is this too many?). I am not sure if I should put windows and doors on this side as it is not clear in the reference pic. I think this is almost done.
Too many? Of coarse not!
It looks very nice. Another building (almost) ready to go into the new viewer
I made a little bit of progress too (though not as much as you)
Created some new bookcovers (with new textures to get more variance), made some modifications to the writing table and added some other items.
This one is almost done now (finally)
Here’s a small update again. I’m still progressing very slowly…
I made some new books and maps and a globe for in the library scene.
Well, I just started at my 3D school yesterday and I think it will be a lot of fun.![]()
@Pjanssen: Do you think I need to change/add anything to my building or should I send it to you?
I wouldn’t know what could be wrong, it just looks great.
Maybe you could chamfer some edges, but that would be all.
A few days ago I started modelling a new building: the houses of healing.
It is really great fun, because there are only two interior sketches from Alan Lee available as a reference, so the design was totally free.
At this moment there are still a few parts that need my attention, but I’m almost done with it.
I intent to finish it today. Here are some screenshots of what I have so far:
Looking great. Some Questions:
btw. is anyone except you working on this project? synthesizer is having school now and the rest didnt post anything since 3 weeks ago. what about the website? is there any update since upsetting it? so maybe need some help. like i wrote before, im not good in modeling, but maybe i could do other things needed for the project or model smaller parts, just to keep the project running.
