Mia material with dirt or grime


Hello guys, I’m trying to simulate a dirty chrome sort of like this for a truck that has some dirt and grease on it.
How would I add dirt/rust to an mia material? I’ve got a nice chrome material I’m just having trouble putting dirt over it.


I’m not sure if this is the best way to do it but usually I plug in a color map and control the areas through specular and reflection maps.

I guess theoretically you could use a layered shader and tweak the tranparency settings but I haven’t used this method myself.
