ACantarel, so all of your hard-surface details are under smooth?

#642

@mrkrzysiek: Yeah finally, half way through UVs now

@AlexAndrieL: You mean if all parts are modeled so they can be subdivided? Yes they are all quads and turbosmooth is on top.

#643

Did some recreational UV work. Some minor UV stretching here and there after smoothing will be ironed out, always fun.

Onto the next gizmo

Cheers
Andre

#644

Remodeled this entire thing. Much cleaner and more detailed now

UVs are gonna be fun on this one…

#645

Good to see you back working on this Andre. The latest update looks great BTW, also out of personal interest what is it?

Cheers

#646

100 % detalization… Cool… :keenly: :applause:

#647

Mate!! Thats looks extremely good! ³

And Im glad you came back
Its time to come back again

Cheers!

#648

@sacboi: Thanks! It’s right in front of the gunner in the front cockpit, like a kind of HUD for aiming.

@provodnik: Thanks yeah all the details… :stuck_out_tongue:

@2xbo:Thanks and yeah time to wrap this bird up for good!

UVs done, just some minor pinching and scale to be fixed.

Aren’t UVs fun?

Alright onto the next gizmo.

Cheers
Andre

#649

nice

for UV you use max or some other soft?

#650

@mrkrzysiek: Thanks! It’s all done in the standard 3ds max UV editor. Just in the rear cockpit when I had a million buttons, switches and other smaller stuff I used UV Master in Zbrush. That saved me some good amount of time but on “complex” mechanical shapes I prefer the manual old way.

#651

Found a bit of time to work on some instruments.
First texture pass on the bigger one, decals still to come.

I wonder how many things I will have modeled once this whole thing is done :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheers
Andre

#652

My goodness, this is just insane. I can’t imagine how long this took! You’re one of the greats man! Hopefully one day we get to see this finish, it’ll be expensive if you decide on selling it

#653

Good to see you’re still at it.

#654

@DarkMizu: Ha yeah taking a while as I am not often working on it unfortunately :stuck_out_tongue:

@scrimski: Yeah I hope it’s done soon :slight_smile:

#655

And another instrument done. Looks like out of Toy Story and can catch Pokemon I guess…

Back to UVs…

Cheers
Andre

#656

Andre, I just want to say how much I admire your work. It has been a great source of inspiration and advice for me.

#657

@MWelter: Thanks for the kind words, great to hear my work inspires you!

I’m in UV land these days. Tons of stuff to unwrap. Thank god most of the instruments are done already.
No I am seeing checkerboards everywhere

Good to finally have time for this bird again.

Cheers
Andre

#658

As usual, looking good mate  by the way just wondering what that fabric curtain like object in the above pic is?

Cheers.

#659

@sacboi: Thanks! I assume it is something the pilot can pull over to block out sun light from the canopy in super bright desert environments so he can still read the instruments.

Buttons anyone?
95% UVed now.
