MI-24 - A Russian Aviation Icon

#621

@curtis10945: Thanks!

@pokoy: Thanks for the kind words! Haha don’t forget it’s also the thread with the slowest progress :stuck_out_tongue:

@sacboi: Thanks, I’m glad i found enough photos to get that far.

Here’s a quick overview to show how I texture the cockpit instruments. It’s not a very well planned video but it shows how simple the process is. I’m not a Mari masetr but it’s good enough for stuff like this.

Enjoy!

nooooiiiceee !!

#623

Thx buddy :slight_smile:

Found some time for more texture love. Nothing more exciting to texture dials… :stuck_out_tongue:
Next will be some bigger surfaces like the floor, the seat and the dashboard cover thing.

Some noise left on the right, weird.

Hope you like it!

This is incredible level of patience :bounce: and I thought my street scene is tedious

I also liked your mari texturing video

#626

Like it? — No, love it!

#627

Jeepers…! if this is what the pilot’s interior looks like at this stage, what must the gunner’s station going to look like?

Cheers :wink:

#628

awesome job :thumbsup:

#629

@Winside: Thanks glad you like it!

@PunkT34: Haha thanks too!

@sacboi: Oh man don;t remind me :stuck_out_tongue: It;s truly never ending…

@amirabd2130: Thanks!

I wonder when this bird will be done. Right now i can only find a few hours per week at the max to work on it.

#630

Still breathing and haven;t given up on this one :slight_smile: Work hours are just insane again.

Quick question to the zBrush wizards:
UV Master is fantastic but I am wondering if there’s a way to get results that look more like the lower (manually unwrapped) screenshot? I am ok with seams, it doesn’t have to be all one single UV piece. A lot of mechanical parts start to look off with that method.

Any tips?

Thanks
Andre

Just a ping for preventing this thread from being closed due to inactivity.
Will continue in some 5 months once Independence Day Resurgence is done :slight_smile:

#632

So… You’re working on that movie!! :bounce: :drool: :bowdown:

Glad to see a post in this thread even if it’s just to keep it alive.
We will wait for you Mr. Cantarel!

#633

no problem,
meanwhile, post some wires of id4 2 models. :wink:

#634

Whoa…very cool, saw the trailer the other day which by the way looks good. So yeah no worries work first
then play :slight_smile:

#635

@utopia780: Yep since Dec 1st 2014 :stuck_out_tongue: Yeah I want to continue it once the show is over.

@Kzin: Haha I would get shot for that!

@sacboi: Glad you like it and yes, first the work and then the fun (lots of it!)

Will be back soon!

Cheers
Andre

#637

We are waiting for you here, buddy :slight_smile:

#638

Very cool project! Amazing modeling and texturing!
I use Mari too. Cockpit’s texturing is special hard and interesting task :slight_smile:
It’s my Robinson R22:

#639

@AlexAndrieL: Thanks :slight_smile:

@provodnik: Glad you like it! Your R22 looks good, great attention to detail inside the cockpit! You should start a WIP thread here so people can give you feedback.

Alright I’m back :slight_smile: Still recharging my depleted batteries from the last show but I am slowly getting there.

After digging through where I left it behind ages ago I cleaned everything up and started with a complete remodel of this thing as I wasn’t happy with the old one anymore.

Weird how inserting an image into a post works now here. I had to copy the url/link to my uploaded image from an older posting. I guess I am too old for this new stuff :smiley:

Cheers
Andre
