Mforge

#1

Hi,
I purchased Mforge lately and have managed to render black objects only so far, even the preview gives me black. I am still waiting for a reply from Konkeptoine.

The problem is that there is no info on how to install the shader. I did the usual : Shaders in the shader folder and materials in the material folder. It comes with presets but I have no idea where they should be and how to load them. In essence, even with all the documentation and tutorials, I am nowhere. Is anyone using Mforge? I must be missing a simple step or misplacing some files…

I am running v8 on a MacbookPro (osX 10.5.8 ) and I tried the shader in v7 with the same results. Any suggestion is welcome.

Christian.

Hello Christian,

I can not imagine what could be happening, here it works perfectly in V8 on a octacore, in shaders folder I have 8 files Mforge.shd + Mforge.rsc + all MFsavers.

In EIAS3D forums can help you.

Cheers
Diego

Hello!

Black objects = The shader is encoded for the wrong dongle :frowning:

Contact sales and try again,

Also sometimes if there is more than one version of Mforge on your system it gets confused.
So, if you have any versions floating around in your mail attachments or anywhere else get rid of them and then try again.
The screenshot shows how you should have them installed.
I have my materials palette open all the time so that I can just drag a preset into the materials sphere window.
Hope this helps.
Michael.

Thanks Michael,
That’s the way I have everything set-up. I got a new version from the company and most of it seems to work now. So, Ian must have been right. I get black frames with some preset materials but usually, changing the diffuse color (even so slightly) seems to wake it up and allows it to render properly.

Thanks,
Christian

When I got the mForge update I noticed that the download contained several versions of the shaders, including duplicates a few levels deep. Not really sure how to proceed I just threw them all into the Shaders folder, and of course my renders came out black. It wasn’t until I removed everything and re-installed only the shaders from the topmost “Intel” folder that it started working.
