weird I don´t have the problem, same as you both TLHpro and AoN

I can see all the shaders in the “+” of Basic Properties channels but not in the nodal view.

EDIT : If I remove AoN Plugins I can see 3 nodes …

Any suggestion ?

it seems I have a pb with the TLHPRO Beta 1.1 plugin

Hey Thomas can you have a look at this ?

With the first version THLPRO shader without Occlusion and Polygon --> no pb it works

P.S : If I want to see all shaders I need to load the 2 plugs TLHPRO 1.1 Beta and the other NON P4.

Download the latest NET framework from microsoft.

I will have a look tomorrow, but just use the “+” dropdown instead if that works.
This seems to be another row of pmGs “fix of a fix of a fix of a…”

If this issue becomes stupid enough, I will sooner or later discontinue my plugins altogether.
We are talking about friggin dropdown menus, not rocket science. :banghead:

Yep I can use it without any pb.

It seems I am the only one with this pb. Mycomputer has been updated today with the last version from Microsoft (windows update) and last drivers from NVidia as well.

Framework 2.0 cause pb with Norton GHOST 9.0 (it only works with 1.1). I have updated it with the last fix from Microsoft.

there is a HUUUGE difference between wanting a stable program and one without any bugs!

how about this, do you know of a program that has more bugs then messiah?

Come on it´s not that bad :shrug: Your shaders helped me deliver last time yesterday, next time will be tonight (easy glass, ray type, occlution), DON´T kill´em please. I like the renderer very much and your shaders complete it eather you like it or not :wink:

Seriously though I’m finding that most bugs have a workaround, though admitedly I’m not using messiah for render other than the odd test.

I definitely don’t go into THIS argument again. It is pointless.
If you don’t see a difference in the amount and kind of problems between software, then I can’t help you with reiterating that I DO once more anyway.

The point for me personally is, that messiahs wealth of childish BASIC problems did lead me to no longer use it. I just have to use the edit sphere for 2 minutes to start banging my head against a wall. It wasn’t my own choice to desert it, I would just love to use it.

Now, maintaining plugins for a software you “forcedly” don’t use is not the most motivating thing as you may be able to imagine.

If one menu (the “+” flavor) shows the plugins and another bad fix of a bad fix menu (the right mouse flavor) suddenly doesn’t in 2.5b for some people, then what am I to do? :shrug:
It may be worse in 2.5c, it may be gone - I have no idea.

I would have no problem if pmG would declare all their releases “open beta” which in fact they are (and have always been for the most part). Then people would know what it is all about, pmG would get more and better feedback since it would be established that it is a beta and supposed to give problems. Then adding steady communications and real improvements to the pie and it could be fun.

But if Taron is now fully occupied with his AfterEffects plugins, the last source of reason, communication and hope for a change to the better is gone/occupied as far as I am concerned. :shrug:

I am happy about all the people who like my tools and have no desire to leave them in the cold, but I am also not prepared to babysit pmG.

BTW. Shaderwriting isn’t that hard to learn if anybody want’s to take over the torch…

I just tried it here and it works as expected with 2.5b.

Could you give me more specifics to how you installed things and how “updated” your system is?

  • Do you have Win XP SP 2 installed (recommended)
  • What kind of processor do you have (SSE 2?)
  • Exactly what plugin did you install where?
  • Did you copy the msvcr80.dll into your system 32 folder?

You are only supposed to have ONE TLHPro plugin installed.
Either 1.0 or one of the 1.1 Beta plugins.
Otherwise you may run into trouble, since the names exist multiple times and I could imagine that messiah wouldn’t love that :wink:

The plugins can reside in subdirectories below messiah/plugins, but the *.lic files can not. Otherwise they aren’t found.

Yes with the last update from Windows (XP Pro)

Dual Xeon 3.4 GHz EMMT64 - 4 Go RAM

all the plugins from pMG + Simbiont + AoN + TLHPro_1.1_Beta1 + fb_BoneChain

I use only one 1.1 Beta plugin. With the 1.0 it works perfectly I can see all the levels but not with 1.1 Beta

Are you using the P4 or the non-P4 version of Beta 1.1?
(the P4 optimized version should work just fine - your machine is quite ahead of mine :slight_smile: )

I am not sure if I will be able to solve this from my side, since the problem looks very weird to me.

  • If none of the TLHPro plugins would show up it would make sense.
  • If all versions of messiah would give you the same problem there would be some sense too.
    But as it is I’m rather stumped.
    It must be something with how those menus work internally - but the shaders work just fine in the “+” menu, so I actually have no clue what to look for :shrug:

My guess would be, that “something” makes the internal menu building code stumble…
Only pmG could come up with an idea what that could be.
Maybe they can fix it in 2.5c?

Yep it is quit odd

yes with “+” menu it works well

I hope they will do something about it. Its odd I am the only one with this pb.

I have removed all others third party plugins except yours and pMG’s and it works !!

I have to find out now what plugin cause pb with 2.5b.

When I’ll find it I will post the name of the plugin

Interesting - but still weird.

In other software, plugins often have a kind of unique identifier in form of a number or GUID that isn’t allowed to be used more than once for all available plugins.

messiah has no safeguards like this but seems to rely on developers coming up with unique names on their own.

Now this is the first time that I heard of a possible collision between plugins.

I personally have PointOven, TLHPro, AoN: Studio (not sure about Darktree) and some other stuff that I have developed (animated displacement and shaders) installed.

So I would call it a messiah-internal hiccup for now.

I’m looking forward to your findings :thumbsup:

I found a pb with Grids.mp and grid.msa … :rolleyes:

If I remove one of them all third party plug work perfectly now.

well I have to reinstall Messiah completly there is something odd here.

After 3 times installation of Messiah Studio Pro 2.5b. I decided to remove GRID.MSA to have full fonctionnality of the right mouse button shaders menu.
