Messiah crashes

#1

Hi, I have a problem with running Messiah: studio 2.0b. Whenever I run it, it will never run for more than a few minutes, then a message that says ‘unexpected error’ occurs and closes the program. Has anyone ever had this problem occured to them? Sometimes, it runs slightly longer, other times, it crashes just after I start doodling with the program. Can anyone guide me on that?

I’m currently using Messiah on a Pentium M1.4Ghz Dell laptop, 1 gig RAM and with an ATI 9600 Pro graphics card.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I suggest trying the following things:

  1. Remove ‘messiahPython.mp’ and ‘Auto_Rig.mp’ from your messiah/plugins folder. These plugins cause some general instability, especially when loading new scenes or deleting items. pmG is currently reworking the whole python scripting and auto-rig feature.

  2. Search the forum or the yahoo group for any advice on setting your graphics card. ATI cards have a long record of causing problems with messiah.

  3. Upgrade to version 2.1 (availiable at the pmG site).

Hope that helps.
