Is there a way to asign a array of a duplicated mesh object to the selected edges or faces of another object in Wings3d. I know that there are alot of Wings3d tricks that I’m not aware of. So I could be overlooking things.
Mesh array asignment
you can use the advance put on command to make duplicates onto objects like a sphere or anything you like to create the desired results
cheers

Thanks. I’ll try that out.
I have attempted to use the “advance put on command” and the object will not snap to the other object face. It just changes to a lighter red color and when I right-mouse click on the target object face Wings just seems to freeze up. The Wings3d Manual said that I could apply the “put on” function to a vertex or edge. It seems that vertexes and edges are not even available for this function either.
What version are you using - as seems ok for /16a (other than minor issue with source face col)?

I’m using the new 16a version. I have never made use of this feature so far. If I can get it to work I’m sure that I will find it very useful.
Well, I’ve just done this - in /16a - without any problems …
Create sphere + cyl (I scaled cyl -> 40%)
Select top face of cyl
Face | PutOn -> RMB
LMB on a few elements on sphere (v/e/f - all work)
RMB to execute op
Clones of the cyl should now move onto the sphere.

Oh well. Nothing. I used the right fuctions. Is there some hidden Wings3d settings that I have to enable beyond the “advanced” menu? I use a beta version of Blender that goes through updates almost every week. Sometimes I have to read deeper in the release doc txt to get something to work right. Maybe its my one of Logitech mouses. I have tried them all. I don’t know. I’m fairly new to Wings3d.
