Mercedes on the road | Maya - Arnold

#1

Hello guys .
I decided to start a new job, where i combine my environment skills with shading and lighting work for automotive . I’m sure this will be epic in the end

This is the pre-layout stage, i’m trying to find ideas and composition look. Also some lighting ideas in the earlier stage .

I like the overall setup. I’m looking at the position of the car and the turn behind it, the car should look like its in a corner a bit more. Right now it looks like its going straight forward and I imagine it would be taking the previous turn wide and cutting to the inside of the next turn from where its at now. Maybe add a little roll to the frame.

I totally agree with you, i will keep this in mind for the next update. Thanks :buttrock:

New update 02
I sculpted the rocks in zbrush , texturing using mari for the first time.Still a lot to do .

I think your white strapes on the edges of your road are too fat. based on what I can find of french road on Google images.

#6

Thanks scote, i fixed the edges of the road .

I still have a lot left to do .

#7

Your wheels seams to be inside the road.

#8

Thanks scote. Yes i saw that, i fixed this problem .
Here is the final update " i may try new thing on this " .

Rock sculpted in zbrush and textured using mari " for the first time, i may adopt this software émoticône smile "
I was impressed about Arnold ass performance. Render time 1h max " I7 4770k " , ram scene " 3 go ", Motion blur 2d " nuke ".
I may try other thing for this scene. Happy to hear your critic guys .

Are you importing and rendering the rocks Highpoly or you do Displacement.

Since it’s motion blur, maybe just project the texture on simple geo. Would be even faster.

#10

I used a bump + decimation rocks, then i exported them as an ass " it render very fast " .
I think the projection technique will be good if only i know matte painting .
