Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has run into this problem and has found a workaround.
The new Environment Light within the native IBL and Emit Light turned on does not allow me to successfully override any of the options in my render layers. It appears to work but when I close out of Maya and open it back up it gets all jumbled and doesn’t work, as well as rendering inconsistently on our farm.
It appears to let me check and uncheck the Emit Light option as well as going into the defaultOptions and overriding it in there as well. I’ve tried driving the Color Gain with an expression but that doesn’t work either. You can see plain and simple right clicking on Color Gain doesn’t give you the option of doing this so it makes me think there’s some busted functionality here since it’s a newly integrated string option.
I’ve tried having Emit Light On in masterLayer and overriding it off and I have tried having it Off and overriding it On. Neither works and sometimes it will be checked but render with it off and vice versa. Very frustrating… I’ve thought of going back and using User_IBL but the look isn’t as nice and is supposed to have had its functionality replaced by this.
Any workaround ideas other than rendering separate scenes?
What I am trying to achieve:
layer1, emit light on
layer 2, emit light off
Maya 2015 SP5, OSX 10.8.5
Thank in advance for any insight.
