Mental Ray and Maya Hardware 2.0

Hi, I am new to Maya and am working on a project and have encountered a rendering problem. Some of my geometries turn out black in the mental ray render view. I have tried to View point 2.0, High Quality and default yet, they still turn out black. But when I use Maya Hardware 2.0 for the render view, everything turns out just fine. I dont why. I wanna use mental ray. I would reallllly appreciate some help. Thank you!!! :bowdown:

Could be one of these problems:

Your face normals are flipped (do reverse normals)
You have two faces on top of each other
Or a shader related question…
