I just want to share with you guys some progress shots of a character I’m working on in Zbrush. I drew this Medusa character a little while ago and felt like it would be good practice to try and create her in 3d too. There are some changes I’d like to make to the concept but for now this is what I am trying to match:
I’ve been working on her for a little while. I’ve blocked out most of the body and face, this is where I’m at with it now
This week I worked mostly on the face and started messing around with the hair. I’m just using these tubes as a temp for the snake hair so I can get an idea how the hair will work in 3d before redoing it properly. I also hope that I’ll have enough time next week to sort out the hands. I streamed working on the face over at twitch.tv/rangerjo if anyone is keen to watch the process
Hi! So it’s been a while since I posted and update. I think I’ve made a fair amount of progress :). I also finished the concept and added some colour so I have something a bit more solid to aim for.

I think next I want to do an overall cleaning pass. Then it’s onto props which should be a lot of fun
The hair is stand in for now and I also want to add scales to the tail, but I will leave that till last I think.
