Thanks a lot guys! Glad you like it!

So here´s a small update to show my approach for most of the pieces.
By using an simple basemesh I can get to the form really fast, so I can reconstruct afterwards.

In this case I´ll only need to reconstruct his jacket as you can see.

Best of luck everyone!

Ah so fast man !

Looking good, keep it up !

#16

Great work man! looking really good:thumbsup:

Fast and looking good… nice clothing… as for the critique: you can put the pants bit higher, or scale it, I think it will look cooler that way. And for the mid part, I think that the obliques is a bit low considering the hip bone, and volume from the obliques muscle should decrease considerably below inguinal ligament, you can check some classic sculptures for this…
I hope you will consider this as a constructive critique… and I hope you will be printing this one at the end of the challenge. cause it looks cool.
Are you planning to give him some action pose or leave the pose as it is?

#19

Hi guys!
Thanks a lot for the comments and constructive critique. It´s really important and it means a lot! Thanks!

So here´s another update. Lot´s to do yet. But now in the pose I can start adding everything else that it needs. Hope you like it.

Hello guys, thanks a lot for the comments.
I´ve been doing a lot of things lately but managed to move a little foward.

So here´s a new wip.
Haven´t finished his demon hand yet and I´m not really sure about this pedestal yet (that texture will turn into a bump). Hope you like it so far. cheers!

Hi! first of all, very nice job. you´re very close to nail the character.

I see all very, very nice, except a few (but important IMO) things :

-The character doesn´t look as strong as should. Mostly the chest area is looking like a old and weak version of the chest that this tough demon has. I know that Mignola´s design is kind of flat in that area, but sometimes things look ok en 2d, but in 3d tweaking a bit is essential.

  • His left hand/wrist is too thin and weak right know…i know is not his power arm/hand but even so, needs to be bigger and more bulky. right know the contrast between the two hands is extreme and not working as supposed by the design.

-The pose is not well balanced, but i think that mostly if you push away his left hand that may be solved.

-The pose is not dinamic, you really need to curve the spine, is looking really stiff and vertical, and maybe you´ll be better repositioning the head to follow the curve when the spine is corrected. Also, the two legs are at same angle which isn´t helping to any balance or dynamic goals for the character´s pose.

Looks like lots of things, but even if i think that are really important they don´t translate in lot of rework at all…just some tweaks here and there (in case you want/can/think that worth it)

I´m posting this but the dateline is close, so i´m not sure if can help in anyway. I just entered today in the forum, sorry.

Cheers!
