Maya Rigging Technical Test - hidden rig in outliner and viewport Question


Hello Everyone!

I recently had an art test that did not go so well. It was like nothing I have come across so far in my career. I received the scene that was supposed to have a model, joints, and an animated control rig. However, when I opened the scene there was nothing there. I checked the outliner, unchecked “DAG Only Objects.” Still nothing. I used a simple python script to print everything in the scene. Still nothing. The file size still suggests that there is indeed a character and rig within.
I still have the file and it still drives me crazy. Does anyone have any idea what I missed?

Please let me know so others and myself can know the solution to this for future reference.


I found the Issue. It was a variable in the Maya Ascii file that needed changing.
