Rendering Software Engineer / Plug-in Developer (Req #805120)

Seeking a graphics software engineer for NVIDIA’s Gelato renderer and
related products, with emphasis on developing modeling and animation
package plug-ins, particularly Maya.

Work on production tools safely from the Bay Area without the usual
production madness of a big studio!

Gelato is a professional film-quality rendering and lighting
software product designed for animation, visual effects, CAD, and
similar applications, and is distinctive in that it is significantly
accelerated by GPU technology.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluency in C++ / development of VFX and animation production tools
  • Fluency with Maya plug-in development (C++ and MEL)
  • Experience using high-end rendering or animation software (such as
    Gelato, RenderMan, Maya, 3dsMax, etc.)
  • Some experience with shader development
  • Strong communication & group development skills on a small, dynamic team.
  • BS+ in computer science (but exceptionally strong non-degreed
    candidates with production experience will be considered)

ADDITIONAL BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience developing plug-ins for other modeling packages (e.g., 3dsMax,
    XSI, AutoCad, etc.)
  • Production experience in shaders, lighting, rendering for markets
    such as VFX, animation, CAD, architecture…
  • Strong sense of UI design for tools used by artists
  • Linux/Windows/Mac cross-platform development expertise.
