maya, modo uvs dont match

base level uvs are the same, but when you toggle smoothing in modo the uvs are smoothed differently than when you apply a poly-smooth in maya. turning ‘keep map borders’ to none in maya helps but the result is still different enough to cause visible errors, especialy if the texture has lines or patterns that cross the uv boarders

internal borders look ok (but not exact) external borders have serious issues

i can use linear uv’s for both modo and maya, to get exact matches, but if i want to use a mental ray subdiv approx node the maya uvs still get smoothed
